About Shawn
I am an ordained Unity Minister and Inter-Faith Minister, Spiritual Counselor, Recovery Coach, as well as an award winning standup comic. As a long-time student and practitioner of metaphysics, I began my metaphysical studies with Eric Butterworth (Discover the Power Within You) at Unity Center in NYC.
Prior to ministry, I spent 21 years as the multi-award-winning technical director at Don’t Tell Mama and other clubs in New York City. (After that, ministry was the only thing left to do.)
Most recently, I created a one-man show called “Because I Can,” using comedy to address how we can rethink our prejudices and fears, and by doing so, alchemize all aspects of our past into a joyful and successful life. The show garnered both the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Award for Outstanding Spoken Word, and the Broadway World Award for Best Standup Comedy. This also led to shows on Crystal Cruises and The Purple Room in Palm Springs. I now lead Comedy workshops around the country including at Canyon Ranch Spa.
My mission is that each of us could have the perpetual realization that we are Good and cannot be not-Good, and as such, have unlimited possibilities for joy, happiness, success and growth in life, and the “know-how” to manifest this way of living. This “Good” that I speak of has nothing to do with behaviors or feelings, it’s our innate quality within. New Thought is a teaching of “practicable spirituality.” What I have learned is, “If others can do it, I can do it, and if I can do it, anyone can. I know that it is through spiritual principle, Divine ideas and Good Orderly Direction of action that challenges can become triumphs. It’s an exciting time to choose differently. I’m happy and grateful to serve in choosing anew.”
